The actor Sawamura Sôjurô III in the role of Oboshi Yuranosuke in formal costume, a design from the play Edo no hana Ako no shiogama by Namiki Gohei, performed at the Kiri Theatre from April 1796. Okubi-e portrait of the actor looking up, white mica on the collar, signed Utagawa Toyokuni ga, published by Uemura Yoei (1796), kiwame censor seal and G.P. seal on verso (Guy Portier).
